The Maguets are third generation farmers based just outside of Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba.
There is one thing that makes their egg farm a little different. In addition to nearly 11,000 hens, it’s home to an apiary full of honeybees. This unique combination has inspired them to name their farm The Birds and the Bees.
This is very much a family operation, Gilles’ parents have been known to help out when there’s extra work to be done. With three young daughters, they love the country way of life the farm affords them.
The Maguets enjoy producing honey, but also love being egg farmers, showing their passion in how they care for their hens. “Healthy hens mean healthy eggs,” says Gilles, “and we take great pride in producing quality food for all Manitobans to enjoy.”
