Meet Our Farmers: Bert Harman

Owner of three egg farms, a grading facility and past Chairman of the Saskatchewan Egg Producers, Bert Harman likes to keep his plate full.

His farming career started in 1965 when he managed 6,500 of his father’s hens. From there he transformed this relatively modest operation into a thriving egg business with farms in Prince Albert, Humboldt and Steinbach, plus an egg grading facility in Saskatoon.

Now, after almost 50 years in the business, Bert is ready to let the next generation of Harman's take over. Son Shawn manages the Humboldt farm, nephew Jason manages the Prince Albert farm and daughter Dana looks after operations at the Saskatoon grading facility.

Bert continues to be involved withe the family's operations and is happy to share all the knowledge and passion he’s accumulated over the years.
