Millions of people around the world suffer from chronic hunger and poor nutrition, lacking access to protein and nutrients that are essential for human growth and development.
Canadian Food for Children (CFFC), an independent charitable organization founded in 1985, is quietly making an impact. Since their creation they have been sending life-saving food items and essential supplies to children in need around the world.
Instability, poverty and conflict disrupt the food supply, limiting access of basic food items to already vulnerable populations. CFFC focuses on delivering food to the poorest regions of the world—where it is not available and cannot be purchased.
They send more than 350 shipping containers full of dry food and essential supplies each year to 22 countries in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia.
Egg Farmers of Canada was one of the original supporters of Canadian Food For Children, and continues to contribute today by donating an average of 16 metric tons (or 36,000 kg) of powdered eggs per year.
