Meet Our Farmers: Jared Hamilton

Farmer Jared Hamilton, a first generation egg farmer, is happy to welcome guests to Jolly Egg Farm in Quyon, Quebec, whether in person or virtually. He has set up his barn with viewing areas so visiting groups can see how an egg farm works. On his Website, he shares pictures of his farm, information about eggs and farming, and how to book a group farm tour.

“The behind-the-scenes part of egg farming is an interesting process. I love to show school kids and adult visitors what farmers do to keep their hens healthy and how we maintain a clean and safe environment for them,” he explains. “People are always curious to see the hens and learn how we collect and pack eggs. I’m proud of my role in helping to feed people in my community and beyond.”

Jared’s love of eggs extends into the kitchen where his favourite way to eat them is any way they are prepared with the help of his young children.
