Meet Our Farmers: Nathan & Wendy Burns

Prince Edward Island 7th Generation Egg Farmers

Nathan and Wendy Burns’ egg farm has the distinction of being the oldest egg farm on PEI. That's not surprising given the Burns family’s farming history. Nathan is the 7th generation of egg farmers in the family.

Hard work, with an emphasis on providing the best care for their hens so they lay the best quality eggs, and continually making improvements to the farm has kept the family in business over the years.

The Burns family also operates an egg grading facility on the farm where their white and brown eggs are washed, graded and packed.

Burns Poultry Farm is proud to employ several adults with intellectual disabilities. “We’re able to provide meaningful work for people who may not otherwise have an opportunity,” explains Wendy. “And we're privileged to have dedicated and reliable help by hiring people from our local area."
